First Visit

We are always excited to meet new patients and thank you for choosing our office for your dental needs! We strive to create a comfortable environment where you can feel confident in the level of dental care you receive. When you arrive for your first visit, please be sure to bring your dental insurance card and arrive a few minutes early to complete our registration forms prior to your appointment.

You can expect your initial exam to last about an hour and a half, at which time we will get acquainted with each other and learn about your goals and desires for your dental treatment. It is unlikely that you will get your teeth cleaned during this appointment. During this appointment, we will take diagnostic X-rays so that your doctor can examine your jaw's structure and the position and condition of your teeth. We will also complete a periodontal evaluation, take diagnostic photographs and identify any existing dental work. Your first visit is a fact finding mission to examine every aspect of your oral health. We will also provide both oral hygiene instructions along with other suggestions regarding the care of your teeth. One of our doctors will reserve up to 30 minutes of time especially for you to discuss your dental questions or concerns. After your first appointment, we will then schedule a second appointment to clean your teeth and start your journey  to great oral health!

At Eastview Dental, we believe that great dental care starts with open communication. We promise to speak candidly with you about your overall dental health, your diagnosis, alternative treatments that may exist, and our recommendations for the best treatment plan. We want to work together with you to form a partnership with one goal- to keep your smile beautiful and healthy!

Your Child's First Visit

It is recommended that a child have their first dental check-up by the age of 1. Informing your child about their first dental visit is very helpful. At your child’s first visit, we will review the medical/dental health history form with you. We will get to know your child and help them to feel comfortable in the office by explaining what will happen during their visit, and showing them the tools and instruments we will use to help keep their smile healthy.

We encourage parents to accompany their child during their visit. This gives you an opportunity to see us working with your child and allows us to discuss dental findings and treatment needs directly with you. A thorough head and neck examination and evaluation of the teeth and gums are performed. Radiographs (x-rays) are taken only if necessary. If no treatment is needed, the teeth will be cleaned and a fluoride treatment will be provided.

We look forward to meeting you and your child for your first appointment!
